Swarathma is a folk/fusion band from Bangalore, formed in 2002. The lineup features Vasu Dixit (vocals, rhythm guitars), Pavan Kumar KJ (percussions, backing vocals), Varun Murali (lead guitars), Sanjeev Nayak (violin) and Jishnu Dasgupta (bass, backing vocals). Swarathma's music combines folk tunes with western sounds. The group has recorded with John Leckie (producer, The Stone Roses, Radiohead) as part of the British Council’s Soundpad project, and followed that up by playing at The Great Escape Festival in the UK.
