“Place” was first previewed in December 2018 by Luka Sabbat and Ian Connor on Luka’s “TRILLER” account “Luka.Sorbet.” Ian retweeted it, saying that the song would never drop. Two days before Whole Lotta Red’s release, on December 23, 2020, it was revealed through Shazam that the song was planned for release on the album.
