According to the Pinch Me Songfacts, frontman Ed Robertson wrote this song following the success of the album Stunt, after seeing that people in their native Canada were unaware of the band's success. The lyrics themselves describe a situation where things are going pretty well in your life, and you feel fine, but you know that things could be better.
