“Pillow” tackles themes of unrequited love, which is embodied in the track’s title line, “I wish my pillow would hug me back.” When asked about the song's inspiration, Woods explains: "I was in LA for the third time ever and I met this girl. She was one of those people that you fall in love with on the spot. But it was a party setting, and she was older than me. It wasn’t that realistic. I was only 18 or 19. I just couldn’t help but let my mind wander to those things.
