"I wrote 'Parking Lot' after I met my now-boyfriend for the first time," Stokes tells NYLON. "It’s about the intoxicating, obsessive feeling of a new crush and creating a fantasy world with them." Generally, this song is about the narrator confessing a secret crush that was never revealed and seems to be on a close friend or someone that never noticed how enthralled they were.
