Prominently sampling Club Nouveau's "Why You Treat Me So Bad”, Only U is a R&B/rock-tinged song that finds Ashanti imagining a man providing sexual pleasure for her, finding herself always standing by his side willing to do anything to be with the one she loves, no matter the cost. The song was a massive change in direction for Ashanti up until this point
