This is one of those straight ahead tunes a swinging gospel type thing. It’s church or as the elder church mothers say “chuch.” I first got hip to Garnett Brown (tb) back in high school when he was with Billy Cobham, and who plays one of my favorite solos on the Total eclipse album, and who I always thought could swing. Did not disappoint, every note he plays is clean no fluff. He comes on playing some short choppy notes then burst into a high flying swinging solo.
