“Ome Arie” is a nostalgic story-song about a kind, retired fairground strongman who lives in the neighborhood and is loved by all the children. They visit his house, where he shows them his old tricks, gives them lemonade and sweets, and listens to their problems when they are in trouble at home or at school. He dislikes arrogance and big show-offs, but genuinely cares for kids, who simply call him “Uncle Arie” instead of “sir,” as a warmer, honorary title.
