Bell X1 are a quintessential Irish band, vastly underrated. Damien Rice was in the band at this stage and there is a glorious contrast between his softer, bitter-sweet songs and the rockier urges of the rest of the band. The version of 'Volcano' on this album illustrates this perfectly when compared to Damien's 'O' album version. However, for me 'Offshore' is the stand out, knock dead track - haunting, beautiful, mysterious and (as with most of Bell
