“Need Me” describes an unhealthy relationship marked by infidelity and lies, however, neither of the two accepts the state of their romance and continue their bad habits instead of ending the relationship. Their love is addictive despite the experiences they have had, something that is emphasized in the hook: “Maybe you need me”. Em has brought up similar themes on “Tragic Endings” and “Love the Way You Lie.” The two already collaborated on Eminem’s album "Recovery" in “Won’t Back Down”
