The second single from Evanescence, “My Heart is Broken” is inspired by victims of sex trafficking, with singer Amy Lee saying: As I was writing the song I was putting myself in that place – what would it be like to be trapped? Threatened? Alone? Unable to tell anyone what was happening because you’re afraid of what would happen? A music video was released, an incredibly dramatic narrative, with Lee in an exquisite dress wandering through a corn field, and ending up in a dimly lit basement playing the piano.
