“M.V.P.” was released as the second single from Big L’s debut album "Lifestylez Ov Da Poor and Dangerous". Big L used Giovanni Salah’s “Summer Smooth Mix” for the music video but the album version was produced by Lord Finesse and used the piano break from DeBarge’s “Stay With Me.” The loop was famously later used by The Notorious B.I.G. on his “One More Chance / Stay With Me (Remix)” in 1995 and producer Lord Finesse believes Biggie got the idea to use the beat from Big L’s “M.
