“Movie Star” is the fourth track from Lizzy McAlpine’s third studio album Older, released on April 5, 2024, and describes the progression of a relationship from excitement to boredom. The song was first performed at the All Things Go music festival in Columbia, Maryland, on September 30, 2023. The performance came as a last-minute decision in place of a cover and excited fans for the upcoming album. “Movie Star” was written with artist Olivia Barton, McAlpine’s friend & opener on her 2023 The End of the Movie tour.
