Minor Species was recorded on November 4th 2017 at 育音堂 (YuYinTang) Livehouse, Shanghai, China, and subsequently mixed and mastered by Gregor Fair. The track was recorded specially for a compilation album 'Emotional, Too' released collaboratively by Qiii Snacks Records, Sweaty & Cramped and Sanbo Records (The compilation version of the song has a different master). It is the first track to contain any vocals from the band, which were recorded separately by Jon Wood.
