"Maybe It's You" is a song released by Carpenters for their sophomore album Close to You. It was written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis originally for their previous band Spectrum, composed by Karen and Richard, lyricist and guitarist John Bettis, guitarist Gary Sims, bassist Dan Woodhams, and vocalist Leslie "Toots Johnston". According to Richard, "Maybe It’s You" is a song the Carpenters sibilings always liked so they decided to include it on Close to You.
