Mare Nostrum, or "Our Sea", is the second track on Near The Parenthesis' second record, "Of Soft Construction". The title is reference to the Roman name for the Mediterranean Sea, an astonishingly bold descriptor for such a massive and beautiful body of water. The song has a nautical sensibility, and continues the Near The Parenthesis penchant for playful field recordings.
