I find it ironic that the darkest thing I have seen in my entire life is... an online map of our Solar System - to scale. All available models give a very, very wrong idea about what it really is. Why do people love Outer Space? Because they imagine it naively. Because they have no idea what it really is. Type "Solar System" into Google and you will see the generic, misleading model. Huge, colorful planets, right next to each other, on elliptical orbits around the Sun.
