MAMA is about NF’s mom, who passed away due to drug overdose, and NF’s newfound forgiveness for her. In it, he asks what heaven is like, saying he hopes she is finally happy. He also mentions relating to her in his adult life, with things like relationships and mental health. This is in direct contrast to How Could You Leave Us, which is also about NF’s mom, but has a more negative tone.
