On “Malibu,” Mac raps about his drug addiction, as he references the use of cocaine, weed, ecstasy, and references the use of several other substances. The song’s title is a nod to the time he spent at Rick Rubin’s home in Malibu during the making of Faces. Miller mentions being on tour during a binge and calling Rick Rubin for help. Rick took him in to help him realign his focus and sober up.
