“Mad as Rabbits” chronicles a person who has given up his position of complete freedom to live as the ideal working man that provides for his entire family. The problem is that this person has lost all joy in his life, and has become “as mad as [a] rabbit.” The title also could be making an allusion to Alice In Wonderland since they are as ‘mad as rabbits’, like the rabbit in the original book. Then-guitarist Ryan Ross told MTV: ”I think it feels the most like the band at this point.
