"Lucifer" is a song by American rapper Jay-Z, track 12 off his 2003 album The Black Album. The song was produced by Kanye West, with an instrumental based on a sample from Max Romeo's "Chase the Devil." A documentary produced alongside the record had several scenes of Kanye playing beats for Jay, including Lucifer. This snippet shows Kanye writing the hook "I'm from the murder capital / Where we murder for capital." On the track the line was delivered by Jay-Z
