"Look What The Wind Blew In" appeared on the eponymous Thin Lizzy debut album. Like most of the band's songs it was written by bass player Phil Lynott, and was inspired by Gail Barber, a nascent journalist and Lynott's one time live-in lover. The song contains a pun on her name, about a gale from the North blowing in. Lynott lived in Dublin, and Gail Barber was from Belfast.
