"Loner" is the second track on "Kindred," the fifth extended play by British electronic music producer Burial. "Kindred" was initially released digitally by Hyperdub on 13 February 2012, followed by a vinyl release on 12 March 2012. The track samples Michael Jackson's "Stranger in Moscow," the Seath the Scaleless cutscene soundtrack from Dark Souls composed by Motoi Sakuraba, a segment from the trailer of "Flatliners" (1990), and a part from the film "The Way Back" (2010).
