"Lonely is the Muse" is the twelth track from Halsey's fifth studio album 'The Great Impersonator'. Categorised as a 'Y2K!' song, the hard-rock track unapologetically talks about being a never-ending apparatus that works for other people, whether it's an abusive partner or a controlling label. The track has been revealed to be inspired by Amy Lee from the group Evanescence October 12th. Amy Lee has later responded to Halsey's instagram post: " High compliment from you, my dear!π€".
