“Lightyear“ had been a long-awaited single in Logic's fanbase since teasing early snippets of the track on one of his Twitch live streams. Many speculated it to appear on an earlier version of Ultra 85. The final version of the song that appears on College Park sees Logic rapping over three different beats as well as singing over an emotional acoustic outro. Lyrically, the song delves into Logic's reflection of his come-up, his growth as a musician and what motivates him.
