J Dilla’s “Lightworks” mainly samples a Raymond Scott track with the same name. His rendition of the track was described by his Mother as, “blending classical music (way out there classical), commercial and underground at the same time.” Dilla’s friend, producer Madlib said during an interview for Bonafide Magazine that he gave Jay Dee the original sample.
