"Life for Rent" is a song recorded by English singer Dido for her second studio album, Life for Rent. It was written and produced by her and Rollo Armstrong. The song was released as a single on 1 December 2003 and peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart. The song also became a top-40 hit in several other countries, including Hungary, Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands. She explained that "Life for Rent" was written to reflect a meaning of her life not "really being my own"
