"Last Night on Earth", the 6th track on the 1997 album Pop, is anthemic with fuzzy, layered, guitars a funk-inspired bass line, and vocal harmonies during the song's bridge. Also, like most of the other singles from pop, the "single version" is quite different from the album version. The first single features among other things a U2 remix of M's "Pop Muzik", which the band walked out to every night of their PopMart Tour, an industrial cover of the Beatles song "Happiness is a Warm Gun" that U2 did for a 1997 TV show called 'Gun'.
