Kyrie Eleison is a short, but rather intense, piece of music played by violin and orchestra. It is, in fact, more than that, as it is actually an instrumental version of the 2nd part of my Requiem, hence the words Kyrie Eleison in its title. The violin - played by my son, Christopher Goldscheider - replaces the voices of tenor and alto, and it was partly for their benefit that I recorded it in the first place, so that the singers could gauge more easily the expression that I was after in their interpretation.
