"King For a Day" is the sixteenth track on Green Day's fifth studio album, Nimrod. Like some tracks on the album, the song also deviates from the Green Day formula, being ska-punk inspired song. The narrator tells the tale of a cross-dresser, who has been trying on his mother’s clothes since he was a young boy. As a result, the boy was forced into therapy by his disapproving father. This justifies anyone’s right to do and wear whatever they want, and whatever satisfies them.
