"Johnny wanna live" is the third track on Sandras fifth studio album Paintings in Yellow, released in March 1990. Written by Frank Peterson, Klaus Hirschburger and Michael Cretu and produced by Michael Cretu. In October 1992 Sandra released the Best of-Compilation 18 Greatest Hits. To promote this album, she released a new version of "Johnny wanna live". The single entered the German single charts in November 1992, stays in for 10 weeks and peaked at #37.
