‘John and Elvis Are Dead’ is the 3rd track on Patience and final single from the album. It was co-written by George and his childhood friend David Austin and released on August 30th 2005. John and Elvis are John Lennon and Elvis Presley, music legends who brought down boundaries, unified people, and died young. Later, Marvin Gaye is brought up as well. They were all George’s childhood heroes. The ‘old friend’ speaking to George is his 8 year old self who faced a serious head injury
