Released September 25, 2006. "It Ends Tonight" is the third single taken from The All-American Rejects' second studio album Move Along. Contrary to their usual style, the song is a ballad. It also utilizes a string section, with an arrangement by composer Deborah Lurie. During a July 2006 airing of the PBS series Soundstage, the group revealed that the song was not written about a girl, but rather "a dude". The single peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, making "It Ends Tonight" the band's third top 20 hit.
