“In My Mind“ is the lead single and seventh track on Lyn Lapid's debut extended play, The Outsider. It was released on August 20, 2021, through Republic Records, with its accompanying lyric video. The music video was premiered on September 11, 2021 and an acoustic performance was released on March 29, 2022. On April 8, 2022, @spoonofjelly posted a series of designs that hinted at the title of the songs on the extended play. Later that day, Lapid posted the track list on her Discord server, confirming its placement on the extended play.
