"In a Broken Dream" is a song written by Australian musician David Bentley. A recording made by Australian rock band Python Lee Jackson (with whom Bentley was keyboard player and singer) while in London that featured vocals by Rod Stewart (as the producer though Bentley's vocals were not correct for the song) was released as a single in 1972 and reached number 3 in the UK singles charts in October that year.
