"I'm Like a Bird" was the debut single released by Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado, on September 26, 2000. It went on to become one of the best-selling singles the following year, peaking at number one in Portugal (where Nelly's parents are from), number two in Australia and New Zealand, number five in the United Kingdom, and number nine in the United States. It helped establish Nelly Furtado as one of the up-and-coming pop stars of the new millennium.
