"I Will Follow" was originally written by Paul David Hewson (better known as 'Bono') of U2 and was used for their first music video. The song is their biggest live hit; it has been played on every live performance from the band to date and is the only one with that record. Bono has said that he wrote the song from his mother's perspective and that it was about the unconditional love a mother has for her child. It was written in dedication to his mother, who had died when he was 14.
