"I Hung My Head" is a song originally written by Sting and released on his 1996 album Mercury Falling. The song was inspired by Western movies and Sting's childhood fascination with TV cowboy shows. Johnny Cash later covered the song, releasing his version on his 2002 album American IV: The Man Comes Around, one of his final recordings produced by Rick Rubin.
