Formed in the late 1950s, Lil Bob & the Lollipops became a fixture on the Louisiana party and club circuit by the mid-'60s, playing a rocking mixture of Cajun-inflected soul and R&B. This track is Bob's signature tune and something of a Louisiana standard that has been covered by many diverse artists most notably Los Lobos on their 1984 album How Will the Wolf Survive?.
