"Hysteria" is the fifth track on Poppy's fourth studio album, Flux, released via Sumerian Records. "Hysteria" is about Poppy being in the heat of the moment and violently reacting, then trying to explain that she didn't mean to cause the pain that she did. Poppy addresses her faults and explains that she is not always in control of her own moods, which triggers her emotional outbursts.
