“Hum Hallelujah” is the fifth track on Infinity on High, Fall Out Boy's 2007 album. Although never directly referenced, it can be safely assumed that Pete Wentz wrote “Hum Hallelujah” with his suicide attempt still fresh in mind, as he has stated in an interview: “I got in my car. I remember I was listening to Jeff Buckley doing Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ and sat there and took a bunch of Ativan in a Best Buy parking lot.” The song focuses on pressing on with life – even when its regular melodies hit off-key notes.
