“How To Be Human” is the first single and title-track for Chelsea’s debut studio album. The song is about Chelsea and how she thought she wasn’t like everyone else. In a press release, Billboard stated Chelsea’s thoughts on the song. She wrote the song to describe her transition from adolescence to adulthood. Chelsea described it as “really special” since it encompassed most of her writing from 2019. In a press release, billboard stated how Chelsea felt about the song:
