It was written by Marcella Araica, Nate Hills, and Faheem Najm, with production handled by Danja and Jim Beanz. It contains background vocals by T-Pain. The song was originally titled "Cold as Fire". After an early demo leak, the title was changed. The two versions have differences in vocals and production. While T-Pain was promoting his album Epiphany, he was frequently asked about his involvement with Spears on Blackout.
