The song is a lamentation by a person who feels low and is down trodden. He asks for divine intervention from Hossana, the Almighty God so that he can triumph over his troubles. The song is sung in Shona, which is a Zimbabwean dialect. Shona people are deeply a religious and spiritual lot, who believe that one's destiny can be dictated by divine powers, hence the call for divine intervention. Most of the Zimbabwean people have dispersed worldwide and they have come to face diffiulties associated with living in foreign countries.
