In an interview from the September 2006 issue of Kerrang! magazine, singer Chino Moreno gave the following commentary on the song: When I wrote this I thought the band was over and I was telling the other members that I was finished. One of the lyrics is, ‘ I hate all of my friends ’. It felt like I was alone. I wasn’t communicating with anybody and this was my only way of telling them how I felt. I don’t think they realized what I was saying until a couple of months ago when I explained it to them.
