One of their darker songs by nature, although they’re primarily known for indulging in lyrics that strike shock values, “Heirate mich” (Eng: Marry me), is the 8th track from the Herzeleid album ( released: 1995, 25.09), it describes an intense longing feeling of a man who lost his wife to unknown reasons, it gets to a point of necrophilia. The rooster meaning welcoming the morning/sunset, the man cuts the rooster’s head off at the end of the song, wanting to prolong the night, instead of accepting the morning to come.
