"Heat Waves" was released on June 29, 2020 as the fourth single from Glass Animals’ third studio album, Dreamland. Written and produced by the band’s frontman Dave Bayley, the song was inspired by personal experiences of grief and emotional distance, particularly during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
