Grillz was written by Nelly, Paul Wall, Ali and Gipp, Jermaine Dupri, and LRoc & produced by the latter 2 people. It contains samples of Destiny's Child's "Soldier". Following it's release on November 1, 2005 as a deluxe single from Nelly's double album Sweatsuit, it topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 2 weeks in January 2006, Nelly's fourth #1 song & Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp's first.
