Earl shared the official video for “Grief” on the same day his album was announced. According to Earl, his record label Sony messed up the release. Earl Sweatshirt elaborated on the song briefly on Twitter: “grief is a final lament and epilogue. stay tuned for more“ Erykah Badu’s “Fall in Love (Your Funeral)” is sampled in the song, which contains a sample of Biggie’s “Warning”.
