"Gone Too Soon" is a ballad recorded by American singer and recording artist Michael Jackson, written and composed by Larry Grossman and Buz Kohan. The song was first performed publicly by Dionne Warwick in February 1983 during the television special "Here's Television Entertainment", presented as a tribute to several deceased performers. Warwick did not record the song. According to accounts from the writers, Jackson later expressed interest in recording it after seeing the performance.
